Vidyasetu is a free AI-powered study platform for CBSE students — Class 3 to Class 12 — built on the new most updated NCERT syllabus aligned with NEP 2020.
Our story
When the new NCERT syllabus rolled out in 2025-26 under NEP 2020, millions of students found themselves with new textbooks and almost no study support built for those books. The old flashcard apps, YouTube playlists, and practice questionss were all outdated overnight.
We saw that gap and decided to fix it. Vidyasetu was built in a single day — one person, one AI, one mission. We started with Class 6 Social Science and are expanding to every class and subject, one at a time.
The name Vidyasetu means "Bridge of Knowledge" in Sanskrit — because that's exactly what we want to be: the bridge between a student and genuine understanding.

Our mission
To make high-quality, AI-powered study tools freely available to every CBSE student in India — regardless of school, city, or income.
The problem we are solving
India has 250+ million school students. The majority study under CBSE. In 2025-26, NCERT rolled out entirely new textbooks under NEP 2020 — Ganit Prakash, Curiosity, Poorvi, Exploring Society, and more.
Almost overnight, every existing study resource became outdated. Students in Tier 1 cities with expensive tuitions adapted. Students without that access were left behind.
Vidyasetu exists to close that gap.
How we do it

We use Claude AI to generate flashcards, quizzes, and revision notes from the NCERT syllabus. Every piece of content is reviewed for accuracy before going live.

Our practice questionss aren't just recall tests. Every question is tagged from L1 (Remember) to L6 (Create), so students develop genuine understanding — not just exam readiness.

Where we are going
We started with Class 6. By end of 2025, we aim to cover Class 6 to Class 10 across all subjects. By 2026, we will add diagnostic tests, psychometric assessments, visual learning, and a school dashboard for teachers.
The long-term goal is simple: every CBSE student — from a village school in Bihar to a metro school in Mumbai — should have access to the same quality of study support.

Vidyasetu is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we use it.
1. Who we are
Vidyasetu is a free educational platform for CBSE students (vidyasetu.netlify.app). We are based in Bengaluru, India. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at hello@vidya-setu.in.
2. What data we collect
We collect minimal data to provide our service:
- Email address — only if you voluntarily submit the Early Access form or a query. We never require an account to use the study tools.
- Feedback and queries — text you submit through the feedback widget. This includes your name (if provided), email (if provided), and message.
- Usage data — anonymised data via Google Analytics (page views, session duration, device type). No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
- AI tutor queries — questions you type to the AI tutor are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. We do not store these queries on our servers.
3. What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, age, or school unless you voluntarily provide it in a feedback form.
- We do not collect payment information — Vidyasetu is free and requires no payment.
- We do not track individual students' study progress across sessions (progress is stored locally in your browser only).
- We do not sell your data to any third party.
- We do not show advertisements.
4. How we use your data
- Email addresses — to notify you when a new class or feature goes live (only if you opted in via the Early Access form).
- Feedback and queries — to improve the platform and respond to your questions.
- Analytics — to understand which pages and features students use most, so we can prioritise improvements.
5. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Anthropic Claude API — powers the AI tutor. Your queries are processed by Anthropic. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage analytics. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com.
- Netlify — website hosting. See Netlify's privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
6. Children's privacy
Vidyasetu is designed for students, including children under 13. We are committed to COPPA compliance:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
- The Early Access form should be completed by a parent or guardian for students under 13.
- If you believe a child has submitted personal information without consent, contact us at hello@vidya-setu.in and we will delete it promptly.
7. Data retention
Email addresses collected through Early Access forms are retained until you unsubscribe. Feedback and query submissions are retained for up to 12 months for product improvement purposes. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics standard settings (26 months).
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to any personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Unsubscribe from communications at any time

9. Cookies
We use minimal cookies — only those required by Google Analytics (anonymised) and Netlify (technical). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Vidyasetu grows. Any significant changes will be communicated via the website. Continued use of Vidyasetu after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
